Startup Community — Join the Valu.vc Network
The Valu.vc startup community is a free, open network for founders, operators and startup enthusiasts across the GCC and UK. We host events, workshops, hackathons and online forums through Slack and Discord to help founders connect, learn and build. Regional meetups in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the UK bring the startup community together in person, while our online channels keep the conversation going between events. Whether you are raising your first round, building an MVP or exploring the startup ecosystem, joining costs nothing and gives you direct access to mentors, investors and a growing network of founders who are building venture-scale companies in the Gulf and beyond.

Is the Valu.vc Startup Community for You?
- You are a founder at any stage — idea, pre-seed, seed or growth — and want to meet other founders, mentors and investors.
- You are a startup operator or early employee who wants to learn from experienced founders and expand your professional network across the GCC.
- You are exploring the regional startup ecosystem and want to understand the landscape in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE or the UK before committing.
- You want to attend free workshops and hackathons that build practical skills in fundraising, product development and go-to-market.
- You are interested in the Valu.vc accelerator, venture studio or fund and want to experience the community before applying.
Why Join the Valu.vc Startup Community
Three reasons make the Valu.vc startup community worth your time. First, it is genuinely free and open: we do not gate access behind a programme fee or application round, and you do not need to have raised from Valu to participate. Second, the community is backed by a real venture capital firm: our network includes 25 portfolio companies, five exits, two pre-IPO businesses and a 1,000+ mentor network, so the people you meet at our events are active builders, investors and operators. Third, our regional footprint covers four key markets — Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the UK — creating a bridge between Gulf founders and international capital that few other startup communities offer. Government-backed ecosystem programmes from Tamkeen in Bahrain and Monshaat in Saudi Arabia reinforce the value of regional networks, and the Valu.vc startup community sits at the centre of that momentum.

How the Startup Community Works
- Join online (immediate). Visit our application page or join our Slack and Discord directly. Registration is instant and free. You will receive a welcome message with a calendar of upcoming events and links to all active community channels.
- Attend your first event (within 2 weeks). Check the community calendar for the next workshop, meetup or hackathon in your region. Events run weekly on Slack and quarterly in-person across Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the UK. You can attend as many or as few as you like.
- Build your network (ongoing). Use Slack and Discord to find co-founders, ask questions about your sector, get introductions to mentors and learn from founders who have raised through Valu.vc. The community is self-directed: you decide how deeply you engage.
- Apply to Valu.vc programmes (when ready). Community members who want to take the next step receive priority screening for the accelerator, venture studio or direct funding through the application page. There is no obligation to apply, and many members stay in the community without fundraising.
Regional Meetups: Where the Startup Community Gathers
- Bahrain (Manama). Monthly meetups at our headquarters, covering founder workshops, pitch practice and networking. Bahrain is also home to our innovation hub labs, which community members can tour during meetups.
- Saudi Arabia (Riyadh and Jeddah). Quarterly meetups aligned with the Saudi venture ecosystem, supported by Monshaat‘s expanding startup programmes. These sessions focus on market entry, regulatory guidance and investor matching for founders targeting the Kingdom.
- UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi). Quarterly events in Dubai’s DIFC and Abu Dhabi’s ADGM financial centres. Meetups cover fundraising, cross-border structuring and introductions to UAE-based family offices and institutional investors active in the Gulf venture market.
- UK (London). Bi-annual events for GCC founders raising international capital and UK founders targeting the Gulf market. Our UK presence connects the startup community to London-based LPs, co-investors and European venture networks.
What We Expect From Community Members
The Valu.vc startup community is built on reciprocity and respect. We expect members to contribute constructively to discussions on Slack and Discord — share knowledge, answer questions and avoid aggressive self-promotion. At in-person events, we expect genuine engagement: show up ready to meet people, not to pitch every person in the room. Community membership is free, but we ask that you respect the time of mentors and portfolio founders who volunteer at our events. Finally, we expect you to treat the community as a professional network, not a sales channel. Members who consistently add value find that it returns to them through referrals, introductions and opportunities.
Commercials: Free and Open
Membership in the Valu.vc startup community is completely free. There is no application fee, no membership charge and no obligation to raise capital from Valu. Workshops, online events and most meetups are free to attend. Some in-person events may have a nominal ticket fee to cover venue and catering costs, but these are always clearly advertised and never exceed the cost of running the event. Hackathons are free to enter and include all materials, mentorship and cloud credits. If you choose to apply for Valu.vc programmes or funding, standard programme and investment terms apply separately.
